This antler is older with some damage but it has sheer size and mass. With 4 thick main tines and 6 total points, this antler belonged to a trophy-size whitetail deer or mule deer, its hard to tell and although it is likely an unusual mule deer antler, it also could have come from a whitetail deer!
Three of the antler’s tips have been chewed on by wild animals and incurred a fair amount of damage. It also has a some stains near the base. Given it is not fresh and has weathered the environment for some time it is in good shape with no especially large cracks. This deer, while still holding its antlers would have been a remarkable and rare sight and truly represents the ability of these animals to adapt and grow antlers with impressive character when left undisturbed.
Antlers make a wonderful conversation piece or coffee table centrepiece, and are very usable for arts and crafts or would also make a good toy/chew for a large dog. Excellent for terrariums, pet enclosures and Christmas decorations.
***These antlers naturally fall off, or are knocked off by deer every winter after the breeding season is over. No harm was caused to any animal in retrieving these from the wilderness.
